Tap into a trade reference directory including, but not limited to; builders, plasterers, tilers, painters, plumbers, security outfitters, gardeners and home assistants all of whom guarantee quality workmanship and reliability.
The homeowner may visit the Website without providing any personal information.
Optional sign up is free using either their Social Media channel of choice or manually by email. On successful signup they will have access to all represented tradespeople information, DIY references and control over their email subscriptions.
When ordering a tradesperson's service the homeowner will proceed to an additional, once off checkout process in order for the payment, order reference and invoice to be processed.
Homeowners requesting the services from tradespeople will cover the initial callout fee through 'The Home Hub's' online payment gateway and thereafter are responsible, on successful consultation and agreement, for all accounts incurred in dealing with the selected tradesperson services.
A set callout fee is charged to homeowners who request a service from a tradesperson represented on the 'The Home Hub'. A percentage of this fee is allocated to the tradesperson to reimburse them for transportation to the homeowner for their initial consultation.
A date on the callout request is a mandatory field and is purely to advise the relevant tradesperson when it would most suite you the homeowner for initial consultation.
As a registered and processed customer on 'The Home Hub' you will receive all contact details regarding the tradesperson for further contact.
Payment for a tradesperson callout is processed through PayFast, a secure payments processing service for South Africans and South African websites. PayFast process credit cards (Visa and MasterCard), Instant EFT (bank transfers to any of SA's four biggest banks that get instantly verified) and Ukash.
Once the homeowner has process a successful payment a notification will be sent to them and their requested tradesperson informing them of the date and location for their initial contact.
If no contact has been made by the tradesperson with the homeowner after 15 days from processing the callout request, the homeowner will be reimbursed by 'The Home Hub' for the full initial callout fee.
After completion of a tradesperson's service or contract 'The Home Hub' encourages the homeowner to submit a reference about the level of skill, reliability and craftsmanship they received.
A negative reference (which may be constructive criticism, bad workmanship, unreliability etc..) will however decrease the tradesperson's profile visibility and reliability on 'The Home Hub'.
The aim regarding references is to create a level of competitiveness, accountability and incentive amongst the tradespeople to generate ongoing business. All references will be viewable on The Home Hub and SMS'd to the applicable tradesperson.
On the initial callout fee being processed, all contact details of the tradesperson requested will be supplied to the homeowner.
The Home Hub would love to keep repeat business with homeowners if they utilise a tradeperson on a regular basis, however, as we encourage ongoing and ideally sustainable work for the tradespeople to build their businesses, homeowners can call tradesperson directly for future services required with no remuneration to 'The Home Hub'.
